DMOZDMOZ, also known as the ODP (Open Directory Project) is a directory maintained by volunteer editors. It provides the data for various other directories and searches including Google's directory, Netscape and AOL's searches, and others. DMOZ editors apply stringent checks before allowing an entry for a site in their directory. DMOZ is not infallible but sites with multiple listings in DMOZ tend to be better quality sites, generally speaking. DMOZ data is available through an RDF dump and is used by many businesses to provide value add services. An entry in DMOZ often feeds through to these other services to drive traffic to the listed sites.
