WikipediaWikipedia is an online encyclopedia that is open for anyone to edit. It has amassed a huge body of quality content and is highly respected by Google. Entries in Wikipedia are often linked to by other sites. Being an open encyclopedia there is the risk that a webmaster places links to his own site in relevant Wikipedia articles. The self-governing nature of Wikipedia, however, ensures that those links are soon removed unless they point to a high quality page relevant to the subject of the Wikipedia entry. A site with multiple links in Wikipedia - particularly links that have stood the test of time - are often more respected. As Wikipedia content is available under a Creative Commons licence, Wikipedia material - together with the links embedded - is often found on numerous other sites. These Wikipedia links drives a lot of traffic to some sites but that traffic could easily be lost if the links are deleted or replaced.
